WHAT TO EXPECT
The first acupuncture appointment for new patients takes a little over an hour and consists of three steps:
Step 1: paperwork
We have a health history and a consent form to fill out as well an insurance form if you plan to bill insurance. The paperwork takes about 10 minutes to fill out and treatment will not be given unless all forms are signed by the patient.
Step 2: New Patient Initial consult
We have a series of questions to ask new patients about chief complaints as well as your general health in order to get a big picture of what has led you to seek acupuncture treatment. This consult takes 15-20 minutes and is an opportunity for you to ask questions as well.
Step 3: Treatment
After the consult, your acupuncturist will determine what therapies would be best suited for you including acupuncture, cupping, essential oils, body work and/or moxibustion. The treatment takes 30-45 minutes and is the last step of your initial treatment.
