Lindsey Sichelstiel Owner at White Cypress Natural Health, Licensed Acupuncturist | MS, LAc, EAMP
Lindsey Sichelstiel started seeing an acupuncturist when she was young for various aches and pains, anxiety, sleep… but never really was affected by the power of acupuncture until she was in her 20s. She went to university right out of high school and ended up with a BA in psychology. She worked as a case manager for chronically mentally ill adults and was depressed and irritable most of the time.
Lindsey tells the story of her life-changing accident:
"One night in May, a very dark night, I was driving home in the rain. Suddenly, I hit something big in the middle of the freeway with both front tires and it sent my truck rolling through the median, through oncoming traffic and to rest on its side on the opposite guardrail. I found out later that I had hit a moose that has already been hit by two other cars. Miraculously I climbed out of my truck unscathed but for some bumps and bruises, or so I thought. In the following months I had memory problems, concentration issues, and headaches. These headaches lasted for days to weeks at a time with no relief. Around this same time I had decided to make a change. I had been given a second chance to make my life something to be proud of and I wasn’t going to waste it. I had decided to go to acupuncture school."
When Lindsey got to Bastyr University to begin her Master’s program, she decided to also start seeing the student practitioners at the clinic once per week to help with her headaches. Within 6 treatments, her cluster headaches were a thing of the past. She have never been so amazed by medicine than she was to have acupuncture relieve her of a burden she had been carrying for over a year. Her memory began to improve along with her concentration and she finally began to feel like herself again. Lindsey graduated from Bastyr University with a certificate of massage and a Master’s of Science in Acupuncture. At the end of her program, she also travelled to China to do acupuncture internships in both Chengdu and Shanghai.
After her schooling, she decided to return home to Coeur d’Alene to start her family and her practice. Lindsey says she is so happy to be here helping people find healing and balance through this medicine that changed her life.
